About

Ryan Buyers is currently studying Drama and Music at the University of Michigan, and is the founder and primary instructor of Ryan Buyers Performance

Studio.​

​

His most notable acting roles have been Teen Angel in a Grease Medley, performed on the Gershwin stage in New York City for the Arts for Autism Broadway Benefit, Leaf Coneybear in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, John Wellington Wells in Gilbert & Sullivan's The Sorcerer, and Raoul Viscomte de Chagny in The Phantom of the Opera. He also had the pleasure of playing the iconic Sherlock Holmes in Ken Ludwig's Baskerville, and Lucifer in the short film Asylum in the Garden, written and directed by Willow Richardson.

In addition to playing a lead role in Asylum in the Garden, Ryan also composed the original soundtrack for the film, consisting of two new musical theatre pieces and scoring for the entirety of the short film. Ryan led the cast as vocal coach and conducted the orchestra in the recording of the instrumental soundtrack.

​

In the summer of 2024, Ryan went once again to Broadway to perform as Lumiére on the New Amsterdam stage, this time starring in his own arrangement of a Disney Medley.

​

Outside of the performing arts, Ryan has an extensive background in mathematics, and loves to spend time composing, painting Warhammer miniatures, and watching Lord of the Rings.
